Some programs do not like more than 3 letters in extensions for files, like Beyond Media.

Although I've notified the developers, I'd like to see if you can also make a 3 letter extension that is recognized by the filters also, so that you have maximum compatibility.

    How about RAT ??? :)

The extension isn't the problem with Beyond TV. You can't see it because it is looking for specific extensions. AND BTV isn't ment for playing DVDs. If you check the Snapstream forums there is an explanition on how to get .ratDVD to show in BM, and it works well.

Actually I was talking about Beyond Media, not BTV, and I work for them, I am also the board administrator for the SnapStream forums. I tested the Beyond Media playback of ratDVD files myself with the developer of the DVD Library plugin before it went live.

I've been working with the developers to eliminate a 5 character limitation with Beyond Media's file extension handling also.

The dvd navigation isn't quite working right in Beyond Media, but I haven't tried the newest version of ratDVD yet to see if it fixes the problem with having to use mouse mode when using my Firefly.

Actually adding the ratDVD extension to BM isn't hard, it's editing an xml file but since BM doesn't see (currently) files with extensions longer than 5 characters, it brings me back to the original reason I made the request.

With the DVD Library plugin it's been rendered moot, but they're going to fix it in the next version of BM.
