shrinking mpeg 1

    i've just got a tv card and i'm recording of it but the file sizes is to big is there anyway of shrinking the mpeg

    Lower the bitrate, or capture to compressed avi (if your card allows it).
    What capture card, and what software are you using?

    msi8606 i dont now much about it it was my brothers but he didn't use it so i had it off him and it saves them as mpeg 2 not 1 what i said before

    Just lower the bitrate. If your software doesn't allow that, look for options for "standard, or long play" or similar, then see if you can find some better software :)
