Hello, I have successfully modded my Xbox and i'm running XBMC. I have managed to backup some of my games by connecting to the Xbox via ftp and copying the contents of the dvd to my computer's harddisk and then writing the files to the DVD etc. Can anyone tell me if it is possible to run the xbox games over my home network? Instead of me having to write a dvd i could just copy the files to an open share on my computer and have the Xbox look in this share for my games? - much like XBMC does with my video and MP3 files. Thanks
Thanks for your reply. It's a pity that isn't possible - there is so much potiential there. I've over a TB of space on my computer and I like the idea of having a complete library available online. Is there any technical reason this isn't possible or is it a software thing in that its not supported by any of the alternative dashboards?
probally because it cant send data over a home network that fast very few people haev a fast enough router to send fiels at the speed the xboxwould need. even if u had a gigabit router this isnt common in most homes so this app woudlnt be useful to make. also dvds are very cheap and fork out a little more and buy a hdd which a goodo size isnt to expensive but i am cheap so i stick wiht good old dvds
