what was the old firmware that this replaced? my drive works great...... so far...... I did have probs with Memorex DVD+R 2.4x DL and I learned to use Verbatum, Taiyo Yuden or Sony disks. Since I switched I have no probs. but I have yet to go back to the DLs (I would only get the better quality disks and right now I only see Verbs on sale but until they get lower in price I will stay with the TYs DVD5s). my firware is CD21 and works fine. I have read many of your comments and found them to be very reliable...... hope you see this and return a comment to me. thanks

The firmware just before that was CD21.

As you can see, there is not a lot of changes in this one.

But I personally always install the latest to prevent future problems, and specially if the drive is still under warranty !

 

hey there. was just wondering how often you should update the firmware for your dvd burner??

just curious. I updated my philips to GD30 as of 6-10-2005 it was the version they used.
