Ok, I know you get asked alot of stupid questions, but I have been searching,learning about "mods" and new things I can do with my corperate (x)box. Ive really just got started on this stuff today. My knowledge so far is: "A mod is basically a program that can run apps and sort of trick your xbox" Now one of my biggest and maybe the dumbest question is- do have to have a MOD chip to play "back up" games or edit/create your own mods (I probably cant do, but curious) With out installing a CHIP can you still do the things a MOD CHIP can do with ACTION REPLAY? I am trying to teach my self on how to use all these programs such as- *flashFXP *Craxtion4 *WinRAR *XBC Connect **Iam trying to download a URL link to get "soft mod" which I dont even know much about, but my freind keeps telling me to get it. With out a MOD or action replay could I access my Xbox from my pc? via ethernet? (router) Now to summarize my messy post: -Yes I am an idiot when it comes to Mods and grammer. -Is action replay worth getting over a mod chip? and whats the differnce? -Can I access my xbox from my computer? -How the hell do I get SoftMod is there any other way to download it other then in a torrent file? ****************************************************************** I know this is alot of stuff, but this is my first post, I rather have 1 annoying post then 4, any way thanks for any help!
O.k. First things First! When it comes to modified xboxes, NO, you don't need a chip. There is a method called softmod that can manipulate the xbox into performing like so. As for Action Replay...I don't use it. It is one of those cheat/game enhancing things but with some features available "dashboards" you get the benefits (i.e. two clicks to downloaded saved games and cheats via the internet). When it comes to Flash FXP, Craxtion4, and XB Connect...setting up your console into the program is basically identical. By that, needed would be your IP address, xbox user name and password, port and whatever nifty name you wanna call your console/connection. I think WinRAR is the only program you asked about that may not be totally free. If I remember right it's one of those really long free trials offered with it. LOL. Oh yeah, yes it is possible to FTP into your XBOX. When it comes to softmods. TheRE is some hardware you will need. First off, one of these three... 1- Original XBOX game of 007 Agent Under Fire, Mech Assault or Splinter Cell (NO PLATINUM HITS) 1-An original XBOX memory card 1-Floppy Disk (used to back up your Xbox's EEPROM) 1-Original working XBOX, cables, etc. 1-CAT5 Crossover Cable or a reg CAT5 if you have a network set up 1-Program - xboxhdm (check out xbox-scene.com) 1-Blank CD-R I think that's everything. Check out some softmod tutorials within the site. I posted the entire guide to "xboxhdm" in one thread today. If you get the program downloaded, the tutorial is included so don't hurt yourself looking for it here. It's quite a small program and easy to find. Remember GOOGLE is your friend...LOL!!! And yes, I recommend using SOFTMOD over ACTION Replay. But on the other hand I prefer Chipped Boxes over softmod but hey, One step at a time right. Hope this was of some help...
