    Hello,

The only soft wares which are talked about are DVD Decryptor, DVD Shrink, Any DVD & Nero.

Why? Are all the other commercial products don’t have any real utility & just made with the intention of making bucks?

Like Xilisoft 3GP Video Converter, DVD X Copy Platinum, TMPGEnc MPEG Editor, 1 Click DVD etc.

Can some one care to through some light on the features of these other soft wares.

    Take care.

When your new to backing up DVD's you want to keep it simple. And why not start with Shrink and Decrypter, why? Cause both are free :)

AnyDVD because of all the new copy protections.

Nero because Shrink doesn't burn on it's own, but can auto burn w/ Nero or DVD Decrypter.

    Thanks for clarifying.

    One more query.

If I want to copy a DVD, What 3/4 basic steps should be done.

Use Decryptor first, than Shrink & at the last Nero?

    depending on which programs.

with just using Decrypter and Shrink.

Rip w/ Decrypter -> run it through Shrink (create an ISO) -> burn w/ Decrypter (Decrypter will only burn ISOs)

    This is what I use.

Always rip w/ DVD Decrypter -> run it through Recode 2 (comes in Nero and is my current DVD Backup program of choice), or CloneDVD2, or DVD Shrink, or DVD Rebuilder -> create a Video_TS folder -> burn w/ CopyToDVD (has a really good burning engine) or Nero.
