i just downloaded a movie that is 4.36 GB(i want to burn a GOOD quality movie to dvd, not that shitty quality 700MB files for cd-r), and the folder contains a bunch of .VOB files, and a bunch of .IFO & .BUP files. i have backed up many PS2 games, but i am new to burning DVD movies... so what program can i use to burn these files to a DVD?
The files must be converted to Dvd compliant files before you can burn to disc. Then if you want a menu, that has to be done also since it won't have one. You can use an app like "Divx to Dvd" to convert the files. OR, I prefer NVE 3. Have you tried NVE(NeroVisionExpress)? It will allow you you to convert the files(It also converts faster than most of the other file conversion apps), add more than one file, create a custom menu for your compilation so you can navigate and go to any file you wish, set chapters, compress, and burn to DVD all in one app. It even has a software remote control with which to preview your work and make sure it works and allows you to make any changes you wish before you burn to disc. It comes in the Nero Ultra 6 suite, an entire suite of audio and video programs which you can use for free each and every month for the entire month til you decide to buy(which I highly recommend). You must download and reinstall it the 22nd of each month and then you are good to go til the 22nd of the following month. There are other apps also like Dvd Santa, TMPGEnc, and list goes on and on. Again, I like NVE 3 cos I like a menu and you can use it for free til you decide to buy. Divx to Dvd is also free, but you can't author with it. Good luck however you decide to go :>)
hey thanks for the reply... i just got NVE 3 and it seems like it's a good program, but when i try to burn the movie, while it's "compiling", i get an error message saying "illegal mode for this track" the movie i have has all the menues and extra features, so i don't know if that matters or not. i burned using Burn-At-Once, Advanced Analysis, and High Quality Mode. i burned at 1x and 2x and got the same message, also used Verbatim as well as Ritek DVD-r if you can help me with this,m please let me know i think i will start a thread pertaining to this new problem as well
You can't start burning until it's done, not while it's still compiling. I have never seen a bit torrent that had anything but the main movie. Or any other DL files for that matter. Of course I don't do movies off the net anymore so maybe things have changed.
I saw on supranova just before it went under, you could download complete dvd's.I never d/led one but they were available. Have you tried just burning your vob files with nero? http://www.dvdshrink.info/nero-video.php
If you notice the original thread, he say he has a bunch of ".vob, .ifo and .bup files". These are already DVD compliant and don't need to be converted. Just open Nero Express and load the folder that the movie files are in. Nero Express automatically makes the VIDEO_TS and AUDIO_TS folders. Nothing else should need to be done to burn to a DVD.
I completely overlooked that,LOL. But if that's the case just open Nero burn express, browse to the folder, add the folder(all of it, burn express will pick and choose the ones it needs) and hit burn. Done. If it doesn't have a menu, then go ahead and use NeroVision Express(NVE3) and create one. Don't confuse Nero burn express with Nerovision express, 2 different programs. Thanx for the update jim, I have never seen a DL film w/ working menus and extras. I've also never seen them Dvd compliant from DLing off the net. But (as you well know) I quit DLing films off the net a long time ago. I believe you did too, huh? LOL;>)
i was using Nero Recode instead of Nero Vision Express, thats why i couldn't get it to work... DUHHH!(the icons look similar) i ended up using Nero Burn Express, and i got it to work. it plays great, all menus and special features work and the quality is perfect i tried burning another movie, and when i put it in my PS2(i dont have a dvd player, i just use the PS2) it said "tv system doesnt match"..... does that mean it's in PAL format instead of NTSC? thats my only guess... and if it's PAL how can i convert it to NTSC?
Hey I think I was just called a pompous little prick. LOL Not at all! I was talking about that little cable birdie, catch my drift? The one that likes to send out letters.
and if it's PAL how can i convert it to NTSC? You can use shrink(free)to convert it to region free. Just run it thru shrink using the "open files" button and browse to your folder. Let shrink analyze. When you hit backup, a window pops up, go to the DVD Region tab and choose region free. that's it. You can let it automatically burn to disc using Nero or Decrypter, or you can let it write to a folder on your HDD.
40ozKing Hi, Can you help me I am wanting to make back ups of Ps2 Games ,but I dont know what I'm doing any help would be appreciated. Thanks In Advance.
ok, you know you have to have a swap disc or a mod chip right? you need either one to play a back up on the PS2 (just in case you didnt know) take your original game and put in in your dvd drive. get a program called DVD Decryptor, and open up that program and where it says "source" select the drive your game is in. then select a destination for the game to be ripped to. go to "mode" at the top and go to "ISO", and make sure it's set to "read". then click the icon at the bottom of the program's screen to start the ripping process. after it's ripped, open dvd decypter and go to "mode" and go to "ISO" then select write. then go to "source" and select the .mds or .iso file for the game you ripped (either one one, for me at least). slect your burn speed, and click the same icon to start burning some games require special procedes to get a working copy, like mercenaries for example if you got any questions just ask me
