    Hi guys,
i have a problem playing a movie recently. it seems that even though all the codecs are present(xvid video codec & ac3 audio codec), it cannot be played. Windows Media Player said "the format is not supported".
i used an app called Gspot(i am sure some of you use it too) to check whether a media file has a correct size, codecs, etc. as you can see from the picture when you click on the link below, the problematic movie already has all the codecs and the file length (green)is correct except it cannot be rendered(red). by the way, i just reinstall windows xp and everything is fresh.
if anyone here used to face a similar problem, your advice, helps and suggestions are greatly appreciated.

I had the same problem. Follow these steps:
    1. download VirtualDub at http://www.virtualdub.org and install it following the readme file 2. Open the file in virtualdub and then resaving the file, Make sure that video and audio is set to direct stream copy otherwise virtualdub will attempt to re-encode the entire film.

    Have fun with the movie!
