im backing up a movie on my computer. i used dvd decrypter first, then shrunk it with dvd shrink. i then tried using rat dvd to further compress the file. but, around 50% through it, rat froze and just shut down. If it makes a difference, i am backing up a set of tv shows. does anyone have any ideas on why this happens? thanks, bshake
I would suggest not to do the DVDShrink step. Actually you get better compression/quality this way AND sometimes discs made by DVDShrink have some errors that ratdvd doesn't like.
i had the same problems with some of the movies on my hdd. the easiest way to use rat for me was to take the movie that i had already ripped and burned and put the disc back in the drive and select it in rat and the rest was smooth sailing.
