    guys-
Ive been having trouble deciding wheter or not to buy a HD reciever from directv (the 10-250). Does anyone think that it would be worth it because what i have read lately is that directv is goin to upgrade everythin to mpeg4 by the end of this year and then launchin 2 satellitesor somethin in 2007. Also, does anyone know if they will upgrade my HD receiver and satellite for free, bc i dont wanna spend a $300 on something that might be obselete in a lil while.

    any help would be great

They might be swapping some of the receivers for a small shipping fee,but not necessarily all. To get more info on this, check out the Direct TV Forum sections on HD satellite service at the following site:

Just like here, you will have to register to post, but there is already a lot of discussion on this issue there for you to read. I would for sure be very carful about buying their HD DVR prior to the MPEG4 switchover.Last I heard,Seems to be zero commitment from D* about what they will do for those customers.
