Try to download the movie again, so you can ask the persons who share it whitch codec to use.

this happened to me along time ago when i downloaded battle royal, their was no sound i thought it was the file but actual their are alot of different codec for divx and the reasoin theirs no sound is more then likely you don't have a specfic codec, try downloading divx codec packs which have a bulk of the most common used like the latest version of "Nimo DivX Codec" and i'm quite sure this should help.

when I run into that problem what I usually do is use GSpot to see what codecs it needs and then put it in google to get it. however, the most common are mp3, ac3, xvid, divx, and svcd, vcd and there are other but like I said you can find those with GSpot and google
