Pioneer DVD-R DVR-109 Not Burning At 16x

    i just brouth a pioneer 16 dvdr burn from newegg.com it says that the dvd burner could burn at 16x but it only burn at 12x i am using Ridata 16x DVD+R media and Nero 6.6 software and i just updated the firmware from 1.40 to 1.50 so can anyone please help me with this problem

    I know the Verbatim 16x sold at Best Buy works.
