primey If your primary purpose is the transfer of VHS tape to DVD disk, Macrovision will rear its ugly head. You should look at the LiteOn/ILO units. With ILO its the 04 [Which has a hack] not The 05 which can not be hacked. Basic connections To watch tv and record, asumes TV has 2 inputs The VCR has to be before the DVD in the line up 1. Cable box to TV input. [watch tv and record in background] Using the RCA jacks of all units [and/or RF on the cable box] for 2 inputs to the TV. 2. Cable box to VCR input. VCR output to DVD input. [rear jacks] DVD output to TV inpit The VCR signal source will depend on how you have to set up the VCR for the cable service. if using the RCA jacks the VCR most likely be line 1 The ILO input source would be Rear 2 The TV input source will be the input on the TV input you chose. If your system won't handle 2 inputs use #2 connection. the VCD and DVD will have to be on when vewing the TV. Using VCR Tape to DVD you will not be able to view the TV.
