As long as you are logged in within our forums, the external links in discussion threads wont carry the "interstitial" ad codes anymore (i.e. the links that showed a "in-between ad page" before taking you to the link you clicked to). This is part of our on-going effort to slowly reduce the number of ads across our site and make the site more user-friendly. We're planning to do the same for forum pop-unders in next 6 months, depending obviously on facts like how our other ad formats like the banners, etc continue to perform (after all, we need to pay our server fees..).
hi man anyone got a dictionary? Interstitial... i used to right click / open in new window to not see it... ;-]) glad you added this bit... (i.e. the links that showed a "in-between ad page" before taking you to the link you clicked to) kool - thx....
Thanks I did not like that feature. My pop up blocker killed the ad anyhow. It was a pain to visit a supplied link.
Great addition, I just clicked on a link and it took me right there no waiting the 20 or 30 seconds to be redirected. Thanx
I thought these ads were gone, they were last week, but today I am clicking on links and go right back to the ads before being redirected. Is it just me?
Thanks ddp, I am glad I am not going crazy. Since my comp got hijacked by spyware 2 weeks ago and I had to reformat I am paranoid about everything lately :O
Your lucky, never saw anything like it. The computer was possessed and not by me, nothing killed it :O
Rotary: Even when you're logged in? And by "popups" do you mean the full-page ad that has the "Wait until you are redirected" ads? If so, I need to investigate -- we've basically been going back and forth with our forum software during the last 3 months in terms of functionality -- we first added some nifty features like on-the-fly HTML tagging, etc but as it put too much pressure on servers, we had to roll back to the previous version. These kinda changes might have caused some loss of "advertised" functionality temporarily.
