I seen someone on their forums request that they add ratdvd support. A developer of VLC replied saying the following: "the most important things like the muxing and encoding format are still not public." Is there any chance that this information will be released, so they can add support?
The codecs (playback and navigation) are available on the ratDVD page for download. See http://www.ratdvd.dk/code.htm I suppose if they weren't available all the other players wouldn't work either...
I really don't know what the guy means either. Maybe you can take a look at the thread and tell him that? From waht I understand, VLC makes their own implementation of codecs, so you don't have to install any and it runs fine on older systems.
