Site update - March 16th 2010

AfterDawn.com has been updated! In addition to renewing the layout of the site we have also speeded up things considerably. The new version has been tested on our Finnish site for several months, and during the testing we have managed to improve the new version even further.

You can now enjoy this new layout at English AfterDawn.com and English Discussion Forums as well! We have also introduced new sections to the site, and re-arranged things a bit.

Read more about the update and let us know what you think!

Needed code for VLC devs

#1 26 Jun 2005 @ 11:39
I seen someone on their forums request that they add ratdvd support. A developer of VLC replied saying the following:

"the most important things like the muxing and encoding format are still not public."

Is there any chance that this information will be released, so they can add support?

The codecs (playback and navigation) are available on the ratDVD page for download. See http://www.ratdvd.dk/code.htm

I suppose if they weren't available all the other players wouldn't work either...

I really don't know what the guy means either. Maybe you can take a look at the thread and tell him that? You don't have to register to post

I am confused at this point as to why he would say that. From waht I understand, VLC makes their own implementation of codecs, so you don't have to install any and it runs fine on older systems.
