I bought a dual dvd burner about 6 months ago and have enjoyed some wonderful burning experiences. Most of my burn times were down to 15 to 20 min. Lately however, i have noticed that it has taken alot longer to burn movies. Now a movie will take alomst an hour to burn sometimes longer. I was wondering if i should reverse the driver and resort to an old one but wanted to post first. I have even emptied all the temp files that might bog the system down while burning. Any suggestions?
Did you check to see if DMA is enabled on the burner? If you don't know how to or don't know what it is, click on this link by scubapete http://www.dvdplusvideo.com/petesguide1.html
Just a thought. My neighbor had the same experience and it turned out to be the software from his HP all-in-one scanner/fax/printer. It was taking up so much memory that the DVD burner slowed way down. Going into the task manager and turning off the HP program solved the problem. Russ
yes turn everything off while your burning dvds to free up the system.and burn offline also keep your system defraged too at least once a week if your backing up alot of dvds
