    Hi there.

I ripped a DVD (Dolls -Takeshi Kitano-), and tried to play the movie from hard drive using NERO SHOW TIME. I waited like 10 seconds (nothing unusual), after that my computer rebooted, but it couldent find any OS. Turns out my Master HD crashed. Does anyone know if there is a DVD copy protection that can cause hard drives to crash.

    For reference:

I ripped the files using DVD Decrypter on file mode.
The movie is region free, single layer and has no macrovision, rce or css protectins whatsoever.

probably just unfortunate timing. If you manage to get it back up and running check your event logs, you'll probably find its been having a few problems for a while

    for example:

this seems like far to long to me.
