I just happened to read lately that people were having some difficulty burning the Philips 16X +R disks rebadged as Memorex. Try burning at 4x instead of 16x and see if that solves your problem. Quite honestly, you'll probably get better burns at 4x than 16X.

tnd, you probably paid less for your 16X burner than most of us did for our 2x, 4x, and 8x burners. Burn quality has a tendency to decrease as burn speed increases, especially with poorer quality media. Fastest is not always "bestest". Even if you system can burn at 16X you're only going to save a couple minutes over an 8X burn. 4X burns take 14 minutes and generally yield very high quality results. Slower media usually costs less as well. IMHO the best media is that manufactured by MCC and Taiyo Yuden.

    hi tnd welcome to AD,

only 247mb of ram is kind of low but possible to burn if you turn off all background processes (i.e. internet, antivirus, firewall)

what media are you using as it seems your burner doesn't like it.I would suggest verbatims (local retailer), sony, fuji (made in Japan) or the best taiyo yuden

you are burning too close to the edge of the dvd. Try using dvd shrink to reduce the file size.

aspi is a lil out of date. veritas a packet writing software try removing this as packet writing software interferes with nero as it is trying to access the same drive as nero uses.

http://forum.rpc1.org/dl_result.php?kaj=1&isces <--check to see if you have the latest firmware

whoa way too fast try slowing to down to 4x (max is 8x if you have good media)

if you are having trouble identifying reputable media look @ the second link in my signature and that should give you an idea of what blank dvd media to buy. Report back and let us know how you getting along after you correct some of the errors we pointed out.

Also edit out your nero serial number it starts with 1A2X***
