Okay, I really need help on this on...I have a friend online, and i traded him a bunch of cards for his xbox....anyway, he is really REALLY reliable and i know he wouldnt lie. anyway.....when i pulled it out of the box it had a little note attatched that said something like 'spilled water on it, had it repaired' but when i gently, i mean VERY GENTLY, walked with it, i could sortve hear like some parts were rattling around. i plugged it in anyway and when i pressed in the power button, it felt, well, different. it went in to far and didn't feel like it was touching anything. i tried the eject button too, and it sortve felt the same way. i opened her up, and everything looked to be in order....is there anything i should do, maybe a screw loose or a part out of order or something, anything, i can do to make her work. some1 please help!

Nope....no power, not even the green lite...although i think i may have figured it out....becuase the hd (xd, or whatever is to the right of the disc drive) was gone...Im getting some1 elses from ebay...so i guess for rite now, what i need to no would be if a Seagate 8gig would work just by plugging it in to my xbox, where the original hd was, or do i have to have it modded first? thankz for the help

actually, you cant just put any seagate in the box, you would need one that has all the original software on it or else it wont boot. at this point you might as well mod the thing in order to get it to work.

    This is what you need:

    1. Mod Chip. A lot of people are going with the excuter3, but Im biased to the excuter2, I always shop from here and would get this chip -> http://www.gameshopusa.com/product_info.php?products_id=94
and if you dont like to solder (like me) get the solderless adapter ->
    http://www.gameshopusa.com/product_info.php?products_id=145

for some reason, it is cheaper to buy them seperate than in the set? weird!

    2. A Hard Drive. You need to get one of any size, but I recomend no less than 160gb, preferably 200gb

    3. The Slayers Autoinstaller, This you can get from bit torrent. If you dont have this, then you can get the thing to work.

    4. x2 bios, this can be tricky to find, but if you are REAL interested I can tell you how to get it.

    Let me know!

okay, well, yes i am really serious about fixing my xbox and be4 i start, i just wanna say thank you so much for all ur help....

Okay, is there anyway i can the mod chip and the adapter thing cheaper, maybe ebay or something. i really would only like to pay like $60 for the whole thing.....second, do you HAVE to get a huge hard drive or....and if you do, do you know where to get a big one for a decently cheap price....and just to tell u, i dont care if any of this stuff is used, slong as it works....do you know the website or something to get the slayers autoinstaller? and what is this x2 bios? and also, if you have to solder, is it really hard, like really really small connect points or could a realative amature do it?

if all you want to do is get your box back to the factory settings, then getting a stock hdd from ebay should work fine, but if you want to mod it then you will want to have a bigger hdd to store emulators and your xbox games on it. That is why I recommend a 160gb min because you can fit about 30 xbox games plus your emulators (NES, Super NES, Neo GEO, MAME). It is up to you.

, your best bet is to look at the back of the XBOX and check what preventing it to power up. if something is spilled, then even if it might turn on and play games it is still damaged tell your friend that it does not work and that you demand a refund.

I cant remember where I got the LOTR gif, it was a long time ago. I made the "deezp1" thing myself and just combined it with the LOTR gif and made one big gif out of both.

No you cant just plug a new hdd into an unmodded xbox.

if you want to mod you xbox for free then do a TSOP. <-- Google it

it dont work on 1.6 xbox's i believe though.

once you do a TSOP or install a modchip then you can plug a new hdd in. use slayers to install every thing.

im only giving you this on how to find Slayers 2.6 FINAL

    "torrents" <-- google it

its easy, get screen shots of the parts of the movie you want to make a gif out of, then with a gif animator (I use Ulead Gif animator 5)just follow the directions. Ulead is very easy to use, it even has a tut with the program. you can add text, crop, etc. and its easy to use. look into it

okay, thankz guys, i either have a v 1.5 or 1.4, which is good cuase u cant do the TSOP thing with a v1.6. i will try it out and get back to u guys. thankz so much, but im not out of the woods yet...i read on the TSOP thing and it makes it sound like it needs to be up and running to do it...is that true? if so, then i cant do it becuase the reason it wont turn on is becuase i dont have the original hdd.
