4 all who dont know about this

the console id changer from pardox ables you to change your ps2's machine id and link id for online use it ables people who have been banned from online to get back on and also for the use to play online games from other regions on your ps2 for example play a jap game on a pal console as you would change your id to that region to log on, the program has to be burnt onto a cd and booted with swap magic to be used those who use disc id utility will know how but searching on here will help.

you can save your default id's to ya memory card and change them back whenever but be carefull as doing something wrong can cause the ps2 to not boot altogether below is the link to the site you have to register but its worth it as its good site anyways for info on the backup scene its in downloads section under (partial_console_ids and pardox console id changer in zip)

a few things you might wanna know

1)you can't play jap games online outside of japan even if you change your ID to a jap ps2.

2)this can only be done on older versions of PS2 andything after V7 does not let you save the ps2 ID after you change it which means the ID change doesn't take place.
