i shure that the ps2 games will work with the ps3 because the ps1 games worked with ps2

Everything that I've read seems to point towards that the 360 will be backwards compatible, as long as you buy the hard drive that comes with it. the 360 by itself has no hard drive, and since all xbox games used that hard drive for storage, it makes things a bit difficult. If you buy your 360 with the hard drive, I believe it is completely backwards compatible.

This doesn't talk of the hard drive issue, but the article does solidly say that the 360 will be backwards compatible. It might not be completely backwards compatible by shipping date, but it will be eventually.

Off course ps3 will read ps1 and ps2 games, in articles I have read that the hardest thing in making the ps3 was that it could be compatible with older versions.

that would be true because of massive differences in how the 3 consoles operate, especially in the new CPU and GPU on the ps3

its not easy to do, some old pc games wont even work on XP, so it isnt that easy to do
