spider chip v.1.6 troubles

    so i got a spider chip installed an all.. the screen shows up like its supposed to and i go to load bios from disc rite... ok and i put it in close it and it says *mode flashing* and 2 seconds later the screen looks like the start up again but instead of it saying load bios from disc etc. it says cd-rom label: and then then "bios" which i named it on nero.... please someone help me my xbox hasnt been working for over 3 months and im losing it here... i dont think there is any where in town i can take it to be fixed.. its got an error 21 and i was told a hardmod would fix it.. please help!!!!

    Are you flashing it w/ the correct bios? You should be using the Evox M8 Plus V16 (256k)

    i tried that.. and it just sits on this screen that says cd rom label:

    Does it actually ever show the chip being flashed on the screen? Or does it right away go to the screen that says cd rom label:? Go through this little flashing guide and see if it helps you out at all...

    Also, you may want to switch media, especially if you are using a cd-rw. I would use quality dvd-r media.

    ok so i did everything rite well.. as i thought i did and put the disc in for another try.. this time it said cd rom label: X3_Bios

    below that it said something about the bios being found

    below that it said something about some other thing being found

    and finally below that it said "bios to small for flashing. Halting"

    what do i do in this case??

    whoa sorry big typo... ok where i said "bios to small for flashing" take that back... it says flash to small for biosimage.... and i just realized its because i have a 1024k bios that im trying to flash to a 256k chip

    So first I suggested using the Evox M8 Plus V16 [bold](256k)[/bold] bios and you said:

    But the X3 1024k bios is not the Evox M8 Plus V16 [bold](256k)[/bold] bios, so why did you try using it? I hope that you get it to work now that you have it figured out (I think)

    Where exactly can I get the Evox M8 Plus V16 (256k? I am having similar troubles. Help.
