    does anyone know were to download the halo2 maps for modding that contain the weapon tags

    Weapon tags are basically the maps hex values simplified. Tags can be changed/modified (hence the word mod) and people use it to cheat on XBL! I am not a fan of the modders, yet I have all the tools to do so. You must realize that if you do not know what you are doing or do not know how to balance the map out, then you are just going to run in circles and never succeed in modding. If you find a resigner program to resign the map to its original signature, now that would be the only time you can get the mods to work.
