Hello, I am starting have problems backing up my DVD’s. I use DVD shrink to rip my DVD’s then I use Nero to put them on my DVD-R Verbatim disk. I am writing at 8x and I have the Sony DRU-700A Dual Layer DVD Burner. Some of my backups are starting to skip like the move Hostage.

    Try lowering your burn speed.

Try slowing down your burn speed to 4 or 6, buring to fast will give you problems

Try backing your burns down to 4X and see if that helps. I had problems burning movies at 8X and now that I've backed down to 4X I have no more problems with my copies skipping or freezing. I also don't multitask while I rip or burn even though my computer should be capable of doing so.

You're not useing paper labels on your backups are you? These can also cause problems.
