    i got a Xcuter 3 mod chip with a version 1.4 xbox

I want to upgrade the 8 gig stock hd to a 160 gig hd. I found a hd that works with xbox, but before i buy it, i want to know how do you add the hd to the xbox. i've heard that with the xcuter 3 you don't need to use slayer to put it in, but could someone just help me out or point me to a tutorial.

Check out www.xbox-scene.com and look under the tutorials tab and you should find something. I would send you a direct link but I work at a hospital as an x-ray tech and the firewall blocks me from the site.
You should have no problems its really mainly a plug and play operation with an installer disc.

Ok, this is going to be the easiest thing you have ever done EAstern.

This is a short tutorial I wrote a while back...

    1) (this step is optional) Transfer all of your C: and E: files from your original Xbox HD to your computer using FlashFXP.

    2) Take out your original HD and put the new HD in it's place.

    2) Format your new HD in X3's config live under the "disc options" Get into config live by holding down the white button when your Xbox is starting up.

    3) If you have a larger HD than 160GB, make sure to choose "F drive gets 137, and G drive gets the rest" Otherwise, just choose "F drive gets all"

    4) (optional step if you used #1) Use FlashFXP to go back into your Xbox, and send your C: and E: files into your C: and E: of your upgraded HD.

Here is tutorial on how to FTP if you do not know how, http://webpages.charter.net/modchipzone/ftpingproblem.htm
