Disc not being recognised by computer

    Hi,
    I have been ripping various audio cds to my computer using EAC, but on some discs it doesn't recognise any cd in the drive. When I go to the cd drive in "My Computer", it also doesn't register that there is a disc in the drive.
    One of the discs used to play fine on my old computer running Win98, but I am using XP on this machine, could that have something to do with it?
    Any help or ways around this problem will be appreciated!
