with certain movies i try to burn, it will stay in the transcoding process forever. i always have to close nerovision express and try again. i don't know what i should do about it. i don't know if it's ok to do this or not, but i will name the file format when someone reply's back to say it's ok or not. another thing, is it necessary to have all movie codecs installed on your pc, so it doesn't do this?

First of all, Nero is not a very good encoder. So you may want to try some other programs (e.g. VSO DivxToDVD) for converting avis or mpegs into dvd compliant format.

Secondly, if your movies were downloaded, then they may contain errors. Try use something like DivFix to check and deal with the errors before converting. But be sure to back up first.

Need more codecs? Try download and install K-Lite Codec Pack (full or mega version):

    Good luck!

Absolutely no need. Besides, VSO only converts into dvd compliant format. It will not burn. So you may still need Nero for the final burning.

ok, i tryed divxtodvd. now, in the folder where the converted movie goes is now a file called video ts. i am assuming you insert all files when you are ready to burn with nero vision express?

It's much better to burn an entire disc with Nero Recode:
Run Nero Recode, click 'copy entire dvd to dvd', then 'import dvd', then go to and highlight the 'Video_TS' folder, confirm, and follow from there.
    Good luck!

There are quite a few. Apart from VSO, I also use Nero and DVDSanta quite often.
