Running windows 2000, Nero 6 - this has worked in the past firstly played up by saying invalid file format but the files (mp3) play in the media player 9 ok

nero loads as normal but as i add any file (and i have tried numerous) it crashes the whole system cant remember the error message on the blue screen unfortunatley but im sure i'll see it again all to soon

not sure what sort of info you require other than that sorry

just to get it out of the way, be sure to download and run Spybot S&D, Ad-Aware, and CCleaner. they're all in the software section of this site, i believe. also, run whatever antivirus program you have. if you don't have AVG antivirus, download the free version and run it, too.

There's Nero 6 and then there's Nero 6. I have 2 XP machines and if I install any version of Nero Burning Rom later than 6603, Nero disappears whenever I drop a file on the compilation from Explorer. As long as I stay with 6603 everything works fine. So I'd say uninstall and try older versions(6603 might be a good one to start with) until one works.

Just install Nero Burning Rom until you see if that is stable. Then you can try the other add-ons if you want. Me, I use Nero Burning Rom and do all my conversions with other software. I just use Nero to burn the disc.

    Dear foxsake,
You got yourself some very good info. and suggestions. Re. burning with Nero, Nero Burning Rom is indeed more reliable than e.g. Nero Express.
