could someone help me? I have an acer travelmate 2300 laptop and I was wondering how I could hook it up to the tv to watch my movies on a larger screen. I am really new to computers and don't understand alot of what is said about connections. If anyone has an acer or knows how to connect it and can explain it simply I would very much appreciate it. Thank you

You need a video card in a computer that has a connection for TV out, I don't think your laptop will have this capability. In fact most full size PCs don't have this feature.

i don't know anything about your specific computer, but can you tell us if it has any ports (hook-ups) on it anywhere that are for a "monitor-out" connection. maybe you have a link to a page displaying an image of your laptop or its specs?

wait...i searched and is this it? http://shop.store.yahoo.com/a-c/actrav23.html

if that's it, it appears to have a dvi-out port. in that case, you would need a converter cable that goes from dvi to the rca cables (red, yellow, white) that are on your tv.
