    I have got a problem with nero6. I had downloaded some video clips using ABC-torrent, and I wanted to encode them into MPEG-4 first. But every time I try it takes about 10 or 12 hours and there isn´t any more progress than 2-3%. What can the real problem be here. I would appreciate if anyone could help me...

    Are they avis, and what do you intend to do with them (e.g. burn to dvd)?

    I wanted to burn them to the harddrive first and after that burn them to a DVD. But it takes too much time and nothing happens, and those files are WMV.

    @tamhunter -

    lol.
    if you've converted to dvd format you can just use standard Nero instead of Nerovision. however i have to ask an obvious question - is there still sound in the output of DivXtoDVD ?

    I tried allsorts, and still use WINAVI (christ people will think I get a % of the profits the way I go on about this program)

    Why does WINAVI not get the ______ hyperlink treatment yet?

    It is the dogz bollox for conversion to DVD format in one go from ANY video file format.

    Dear W-power,

    Downloaded wmvs often contain errors that may not be visible upon viewing, but would affect encoding and burning. In your case, you may want to use some program (e.g. DivFix) to check and correct errors to see if it'll be better. But note that error correction is not 100% and the program might backfire. So you must backup first.
    When you're done checking and correcting errors, you may try converting again with e.g. VSO. Do not use Nero 'cos it's not a very good encoder.

    Good luck!

    right then, could do with knowing what version of nerovision you're using; maybe a logfile would help. i think nerovision logs are in c:\program files\ahead\nerovision\nero<something>.log

    Dear scf_au,

    Thank you very much for the help. I realy needed some help. But I tried updating my Nero program and that helped alot. And it encodes real fast now, but I am not completly satisfied with the picture quality. I think you are right that Nero isn´t a very good encoder.

    Well, so long as it worked. You may also want to try out other programs later.
    Cheers!
