New xbox's and softmods?

    i may go take my xbox back to best buy its wore out and the drive doesnt open alot of the times, ill uninstall softmod installer deluxe 2.0 first i was wondering if new xbox will work with this softmod? or did microsoft make a new dash that i cant mod with it? and will restoring my c drive with Restore MS backup put my xbox back to retail? even the lunux or whatever screen <when u leave the drive open> will that be gone to?

    Did u make a back up of the xbox before you did any modding and if so go to the back up option. That will restore your xbox to the state it was in right before you modded it.

    so no mod menu when i leave the door open? and will new xboxs work with it? or is it a newer dashboard?

    i am trying to softmod my xbox and i have all the stuff like the original version of mech assault and the game saves for it and the usb adapter which i made my self. now the problem is i dont know how to get the game saves onto my xbox from the computer. i have my 16mb memory card hooked up to the comp but i dont know where to go to put those game saves on it!

    you can softmod any version xbox, even the newest ones. Just load the gamesave hack to launch into evox, run 'backup', then reboot. Then load back into the gamesave hack and ftp to the xbox, copy the entire c and e drives. (the backup folder will be in the game save and contains the eeprom.bin and hd password) I then use these and xboxhdm to set up a bigger hard drive. lock it with the password you got from the backup folder and and install it. done. Oh, and if you want to put game saves on your xbox they go in E:\UDATA\

    Oh, not sure if you were asking how to get the hacked gamesave onto your xbox in the first place. to do that just put it on a memory card and go to the memory menu on the xbox dash and copy it to the xbox hd. put the game disc in and load the save game off the hd

    Hey. If anyone has the autoupdate 4 (for Halo 2) on an ftp enabled Xbox, then most of us will be able to get back on Halo 2 Live. I removed all of my Halo 2 modded content, but am still unable to get on Live for Halo 2. Every other Live game works. If anyone has the autoupdate 4 file, please send it to me.
