i tried to search for an answer but couldnt find anything sorry. but i was joining together 2 avi files. it was successful but for some reason the finished avi was at 93gb!!! and i deleted the other avi's thinkin ok i got it to work. does anyone know how i could make this into a much smaller avi?? please help
im not exactly sure. but i know the torrent that had both files was 1.3gb. and i used virtualdub. but i dont have the original avi's anymore. i only have the 93gb avi file.
yea it works as it should. both avi's running as one audio and video perfect. only problem is that its taking up like half my hard drive
Well, something is definitely wrong here. Maybe you could try: 1) use e.g. media player classic to view and check the length of the avi. If it's like 2 hours, then the file size could never be 93 gb. 2) split the avi into e.g. two parts and check the resultant file sizes. If they become 'normal' again, abandon the huge avi and keep the two 'normal' portions, then do the joining all over again. If the two portions still add up to become 93 gb, or if the pc says splitting cannot be performed because you don't have enough harddisk space, then might as well abandon all the files if they are not vitally important. No point in risking things for keeping them. Good luck!
yea i did. i use windows media player 10. says 2:15:XX something like that. so i know it shouldnt be this big its only 2 hours. but how exactly do u split it?
So it could have been an error with the time counter. Many programs can split and join avis (e.g. Power Video Converter, X Video Converter, DVDSanta). Good luck!
