halo 2 map pack and softmod?

    ok i just softmoded my xbox 2 days ago and play to buy the map pack will it work with my softmod or will it update somethn i dont want it to and kill my xbox?

    dont worry i dont have xbox live im on dial up they dont offer high speed here >.< i play halo with frnds offline
