I have captured some old VCR, by ATI AIW software, into MPEG format. However, the file is over 5GB in size. I understand that I need something like DIVX2DVD to convert the file into DVD burn-able format. My question are do I need to compress the file to a smaller size before the conversion or do I convert the format first then do the compression. What are the best software that can handle the job. Many thanks.
The file now is an mpg file. However, it is over 5.7 GB. I am not sure with what I can edit/compress it to the 4.7GB in size. I also need to know if the file need to be converted to some other format for burning. Thanks.
Well if the File is that Big it isn"t going to Fit on a Regular DVD so you will have to Probably Compress the File after createing the Video_TS Folder.... If this Mpeg file is a DVD Compliant Mpeg-2 file then all you have to do is use a DVD Authoring program Like "MediaChance DVDLab Pro" to add your menu"s and Chapters and to Burn the DVD , It can also Compress the File for you so it fits Perfectly on a 4.38gb DVD... You could also use a DVD Authoring Program Called "Tmpgenc DVD Author" which is Much easier to use but makes pretty Plain looking Menu"s and doesn"t have the Feature to Compress the File to Fit on a DVD so you would have to use it to Create the "Video_TS" folder and then you would use something like "DVD-Shrink" to compress the Folder so it fits on a DVD and then use something like Nero to Burn the Video_TS Folder to DVD..... Cheers
