xvid/avi help audio

    I donloaded a movie and when i play both parts and the sample theres no audio. is this normal? I know I need to convert to a mpg in order to see the movie but shouldnt the audio play?

    You're probably just missing some needed codecs. Try download and install K-Lite Codec Pack (Mega version). It also comes with an all-purpose media player called Media Player Classic:

    thanks for the help it worked great. I ma not familiar with xvid/avi movies. My second question is how what would be the best and most conveinent method of converting the xvid to mpeg frormat. I have two parts of the video and I usually use mpeg-vcr to combime my movies.

    If you're thinking about burning the xvids to dvd, then there's no need for the extra step. Just use VSO DivxToDVD (free version) to convert to dvd compliant format, then burn with Nero or whatever.
    If you really want to convert to mpeg, there are quite a few programs that can do the job. I normally use X video converter, or Power video converter.
