I am using Nero express 2. When a watch my videos on my T.V. it cuts off some of the top of the screen and the bottom of the screen(almost as if it is zoomed in a bit) making it so I cannot read the subtitles that are built onto the video *cries* has anyone else had this problem? Thank you all pre-emptively for your help! (¤ˆ,ˆ)

yes I have had the same problem and still have yet to find a way to get rid of it. I hae tried every altering function the the dvd player. I am using a DVP642 from Philips and I love it except for the fact it cuts off my hardcoded subtitles. Are you trying to watch anime with yours? And what Dvd Player are you using?

Yes, I am trying to watch anime(only anime that has yet to be licensed) (`°?°) I have tried to use 'several' home DVD players, 6 year old DVD player, brand new expensive DVD player, 35 dollar player, , , just about everything. Any help would be great. ‹(ˆ,ˆ‹)

I'm on the same boat as you I'm afraid. I have tried many different dvd players, inculding hte new ones that play avi. I have also gone as far as taking apart my tv and resizing the picture. Of which also failed. I'm still looking into it tho, so If I come across a fix I'll let you know and you do the same.

Okies! (¤ˆ,ˆ) I have fiured out why this problem is occuring. I should have mentioned this earlier. I realized when I tried the dvd's in different players that from TV to TV the cut off was either worse or less. Turns out that all TV's have those little black strips that cut off some of the image no matter what. Why companies bother to put pixles on a TV that are going to be covered with a black strip I will never know. I heard from a little bird that the ONLY way to correct this problem is to put black borders around your Video 'before' you burn it!

"How do we do this?", I ask myself
if anyone else finds a program that can do this, please keep us posted
    Arigatou~!

I'm not exactly certain, however, I believe "VirtualDub" is our answer to everything. Although the program is very confusing to me. If anyone knows how to use it please help, Thanks.

On a side note, I have been researching and apparently people think you need to turn your avi into an mpeg. Nero express seems to turn the avi into a VOB no problem yet I have run into a couple snags with some videos that do not want to work. particularly when I try to raise or lower the quality. Is this because they are not an mpeg yet? I found TMPG is one of the best for converting to an mpeg, yet some video files won't work. This is where VirtualDub comes in handy for altering the video. Yet, again, I'm not entirely sure how to use this program (`≈∙≈)

I know the answers are out there somewhere, but what are the odds of them stumbling into this thread?
