I dl'd a backup of a game I have, DBZ Budokai 3, it came with 23 files inside a folder. One info file (won't open), one SFV file, and 21 files with the extensions of 3 digit #'s.

How do I turn those into an ISO?

Do I merge them in MSDOS then put them together with CDDVDGEN to create the ISO?

sigh. that link absolutely does not tell me how ti fix this situation. my source for the backup isn't an ISO. It's only a group of the files with the 3 digit # extensions.

You need to download a program called WinRAR and unrar the files, that will give you an ISO. Just open any of the rar files and it will unrar them to create an ISO.

The reason people aren't going to reply is because 1) Downloading a game, even one you own, is kind of iffy. (Cos really, why would you download in the first place if you are backing up something you own, which you could just put in your dvd drive) 2) You could have done a better job actually searching google first. But ill indulge you anyways.

.nfo file you manually open in notepad or some other text editor. Contains info about your pirated goods.

.sfv file is a file filled with hashes that is used by certain programs to check the integrity of the split archive files.

.001-.0xx are the split archive files. Use a program like WinRAR to open the .001 file and it will let you extract whatever is inside (probably an iso?)

Eh. The reason why I dl'd it as opposed to scan it, is cause I've had problems ripping discs lately. I've been getting pretty bad rips, so I decided it'd be a safer to DL it.

I think I figured out what to do with the .001 - .0xx files. I need to bring them into the dos prompt and merge them together into an iso. Just guessing, but I'll see how that attempt goes.

no, i would do as SerranoX3 and jashsu suggest
get winrar
install it
go to the folder all those files are in
right click on the first numbered file (game.001 or something)
from the drop down menu choose "extract to"
pick a folder to extract the file to
see what file it gives you, then report back

yeah dude, just use WinRAR and double click and extract on any of the rar files as long as they all and the sfv file are in the same directory..when it is done you should have a bin & cue or just an iso or maybe a mdf & mds file. depending on what the person used who made the rar files..

thanks guys. I haven't gotten the chance to extract the 21 files yet, but I'd take the boards opinion over mine.

just remember you do not extract all of them
just the first numbered file like game.001

why? is the game giving you problems?

only remove and rebuild games that have a high TOC,like over 4.35 gb which swapmagic cannot handle
