Here's the situation, I am considering buying either an Xbox or Playstation 2 for my kids(so that I can get them off my computers 1. I'd like to softmod whichever system I buy. I've read the threads about softmodding an Xbox and it seems pretty straight forward and easy. Is the same type of mod possible on a Playstation 2? or do I have to get a hardware mod for Playstation 2. 2. I know there are a bunch of emulators out there for both PS2 and Xbox so that these machines can play older systems games. Do both systems have the same emulators out there? meaning can both PS2 and Xbox play the same older system games? 3. Which game system has a more active internet community for help, support etc.? 4. Which one has a larger library of games for younger kids? Any other useful information that would help me decide which system to get would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
1 you have to hardware modchip the ps2 2 never knew there were emulators were for the ps2 but most likely you have to use different emulators of each system cause they run different codes 3 XBOX harsh bigger community 4 I think both are the same amount of kid games (actually maybe xbox because microsoft likes to publish everyone games)
