i have vcr with 4 connections audio in, audio out, video in, video out... vcr came with a cable with three ends on each side red, white, yellow. the capture card has a s- video input, a separate a a/v output connector and audio input (line in) the cable that came with the capture card has 5 connections in it on e one cable.. a 9 -pin DIN connector, audio out left (white), audio out right(red), composite video output( yellow), s-video output. where do my cable go , what do they connect to to record from my vcr?? thanks
Diablo, VCR Video out goes to Card Video In, you will probably need a composite to S-Video lead to make this work. The Red plug is the audio Right channel The White plug is the Audio LEFT channel The Yellow plug is composite video signal You don't mention what sort of video capture card you have. The web is full of manuals which describe what sort of connections to make. Post your card Maker, model and any other details you have. A quick google will likely turn up the manual.
i googled it couldnt find anything that i could understand.. i got hauppauge win tv 350 pci card.. so that cable a/v output connector that came with the wintv 350 i cant use at all to record off my vcr?
That cable is for OUT, not in, on the 350. To cap from VCR: Connect YELLOW OUT on VCR to S-VIDEO IN on pvr350. Connect RED and WHITE OUT on VCR to converter to STEREO MINI plug, and insert into sound card's (or 350's) LINE IN port. Set capture software to S-VIDEO video input, and LINE IN audio input.
which would be better ,giving a better sound, put audio into line in of wintv 350 card or lin in of sound card thanks
will i be able to use the line in on the win tv pci card to record my cassette tapes to the hard drive. if so what software do i need? can i use audicity?
