I bought a sony cibershot digital camera and i have been shooting videos with. It it takes fairly good videos if you use the 640 fine setting but a 8 sec video takes up like 25 megabits im not sure what format it records in. My question is if anybody knows what format it records in and if there is a program out there I can use to compress the video to take up less disk space mainly to email the vidoes any help will be great.

I think you can use imtoo mpeg encoder to compress the video from digital camera, divx format is recommend, the format is high compression and the quality is good.

Thanks for your reply. Yes I am aware of divx format but a lot of people I e-mail do not have divx codec installed on their computer so they will not be able to watch the videos. I set up a ftp server and I am letting them download from that for now.
