    well im a noob about Nerovision Express...I've been using it for a while and it hasn't been giving me any problems till a few days ago. So they told me to save my log, but i dont really know how to read this log...and i didnt know how much to c/p so ask if you need more
    Oh and im trying to burn dvds...if thats any different...
    I have more i can say...so i tell it to burn, and it has to transcode or what not, i really dont know what that means and is it normal to take 4 hours to transcode and burn? The burning is pretty fast but it seems that the transcoding takes a really long time. I think that the error comes up after the transcoding is done, but im not really sure. Thats all i know.

    @Pillows -

    are you using an external burner ?, it's just i can't see it in your partial logfile.

    - that's old, latest is 6.6.0.15. I also suspect you're using Nerovision 2, latest is 3.x.x.x

    - cor i haven't seen a Zip 250 for ages, i dunno where mine even went. Not sure if the Zip needs DMA on or not, never thought about it before. i could cheat and google search but it's late!. try this - http://home.comcast.net/~bbmayo/FAQ.htm or this way -
    - uninstall Roxio, it tends to not play well with Nero

    - bless you!. it's not my DMA FAQ but bbmayo's, i just recommend it about 20 odd times a night lol :)

    get rid of the Roxio anyway, but to me , your problem looks to be the original avi or whatever file you converted from ?

    don't think we looked at what media you're using too ?

    Hi Pillows,

    If you burn to the hard drive first, and play it from there, does it have the same pixeling going on?

    Was this a DivX file you downloaded? Sometimes a corrupted download could cause this, even though it plays fine in NeroShowTime, PowerDVD, Windows Media Player.

    Do you have this issue with other source files?

    Yes, they were files that i downloaded. But I dont really think that the files are corrupt. Because before i was able to burn them fine, but then i wasnt able to burn because of some error. Then when i downloaded the newer version of NeroVision Express, thats when this pixel-ie thing started happening.

    @Pillows -

    try this - http://www.free-codecs.com/download/GSpot.htm, one of the things it can do is tell you whether you have missing/problems with codecs or whether the download has corruption/is incomplete.

    also, does the original file jerk when it's playing ?

    When i play the original file on Nero Showtime it has the pixel-ie thing, but when i tried it on Windows Media, VLC, RealPlayer, and Winamp it was fine. Also the link leads to an error page...nevermind bout the error....there was just a comma at the end....

    Hi Pillows,

    We fully support DivX and Xvid type files, and I have many here that I test with and do not run into these issue. So there has to be a factor affecting your playback and encoding with our software.

    I would first recommend trying the utiltiy mentioned by Creaky, to see if you have missing codecs.

    Have you installed or uninstaled any other programs recently?

    Ok, i downloaded the GSpot thing, which i find quite useful actually, and it said i needed DivX 5.0 . So i went and downloaded DivX 5.2 from the free-codecs place. But when i installed it and restarted everything, some of the videos are still pixel-ie. Some videos were able to play fine. So it seems that maybe some of the files are corrupt i guess. But it still doesnt make sense to me how other media players were able to play them fine. Could I get an explanation?

    Oh and something else i found that maybe has to do with it. When i clicked to see what codecs i had in Gspot, I scrolled down to Nero Digital Video Encoder and under the driver file section, it said **Codec not registered. Does that have something to do with this problem? I took a screen shot too...

    Hi Pillows,

    That is a problem if our Nero Codec is not registering. On my systems our codecs are registered. I've confirmed this with both the OEM and Retail builds.

    I would recommend a clean uinstall of our Nero software using our Nero Clean tool that you can find on our website using the below link.
    http://ww2.nero.com/enu/General_CleanTool.html

    And then reboot and reinstall our Nero software.
