hdd problems

    I just installed a wd8gig out of an xbox on my computer.. i used hdmanager to format and istall ntfs partition.. my bios and device manager recognizes it but i can't access or see it in mycomputer.. probably something stupid but i've never installed hdd before. any help would be great.. would it make my system run faster if i was to use the small hdd for xp only?

    Go to start, right click my computer, manage, disk management. There is a list of all drives. If the drive is there it, may need a drive letter assignment.

    Thanks pulsar thats what i needed.. i've spent 2 weeks trying to figure this out and all i had to do was ask.. i really appreciate it!

    No worries, I had the same prob recognising my zip drive. then I found the solution at Afterdawn! Top job.

    not really on topic but ...... i knew this was a good place to look i've learnt something else thats twice in one day

    Nice job pulsar...it took me 2 days to figure that out when I added a HDD...always better to ask first...LOL
