I am interested in building a HTPC but am concerned about the TV tuner cards. Is it possible to get a card that will allow you to watch TV directly without having to have the computer turned on? I currently use DISH Network, and I would like the option to turn on the computer for recording, internet, games, etc. Would a standard TV-in/out card work? I am looking at the Hauppage PVR-150MCE card. Any ideas? Thanks,

I havent heard of any. Your best option would be to get an LCD monitor that can be used as a normal computer monitor or a TV.

Yikes. I figured there would be some card that would atleast route the signal directly (like a VCR) when the power is off.
