my xbox shuts down w/o warning, either when i am playing in the middle of a game or when it is sitting idle in evox dashboard. after it automatically shuts down i give the xbox a good shake and it seems to work properly after that. i have consulted online guides at various sites and cant seem to understand why this is happening. and i do not have the automatic shut down feature enabled, i triple checked!!! i have even re-soldered the power connector on the power supply board. by the way it is a softmodded v1.0 xbox, softmod done by someone else i know.
