I have a avi file that is 6.5 gigs. When I add it to nero vision express 2, it automatically makes the file 1.2 gigs. I have 8.5 gig dvds and the software still recognizes them as 4.5 gig disks even though they are 8.5 and even though i am using a double layer dvd burner. Any help would be appreciated.

    thanks.

Try putting the file into VSO DivxToDvd then put the .vob files into DVD shrink. Then put the .vob files into Nero Vision express.

Then it will fit onto your disks

Thanks for the feedback. I will try that out. Does anyone know why the file doesnt fit? Or why Nero doesn't recognize that the dvd disks can hold 8.5 gigs?

Memorex is really bad media, Try using Verbatim Datalife Plus or some Riteks. Those two sites would have told you the exact statisctics of your disks, but memorex have a bad reputation and i would strongly suggest trying a better brand of media.
