Whooo boy like we wernt all there at some point! Hell I still sometimes get that message when My XBOX™ overheats!

Perhaps you'd care to share the Error Message. If I'm not over mistaken it should be anywhere from 0 to 21. Granted 0 is a bit of a giveme as 0 is a 'no error report' so you shoud never actualy see a '0' error. the more common ones a 5 & 6 (HDD Lock State), 16 the RTC and 21 is for the M$Dash. I had an error 13 once that ment that the HDD was tosted! And had to be eventualy replaced twice!

No one here can tell you what your problem is unless you actually state the nature of the Code!

To the Upper Left of the Screen IIRC just off to the left of your 'Please call M$' there should be a Number. This Number is important as it will help to determin if your Dashboard is kanckerd and needs to eventualy be repaird. Or if it's simply just a case where the IDE Cable has come loose off either the HDD or the DVD-ROM Drive. Without knowing this Number (i.e. The nature of your Error.),. There's no one here that can really offer any help to you. Assuming you'd call M$ as this Screen is trying to tell you. The first thing they'd ask you for was this Number.

Perhaps a visit here: http://www.xbox-scene.com/articles/errorcodes.php for more info on XBOX™ Error Codes...

O.K.,Now I Get What Your Talking About And I See The Error Number Code And I Now Need (A Crazy As It Might Sound)A Little Help Identifing The Number.I Say This Because I Can't Compleatly Make Out What The Number Is.It Is Ither A 1 Or A Seven. The Description Of It Is It Looks Like A 1 Without The Line Underneith And The Little Slanted Line On The 1 Is Still There And In The Same Location Except It Is Positioned A Little Diffrently. It Still Is Going To Left Except But Now It Is Straight And Look Likes Like A Upside L Totaly Opposite Just Like The Way I Described To You Up Above.I Am Not Tring To Say This In A Mean Way But,Do You Get What I'm Talking About.Once Again Please Don't Take This In The Wrong Way,It's Just I Don't Know How To Say It In Any Other Way.

(The One Also Look Like The One On The Website Except Like I Said It Has A Straight Line At The Top Left)

I think from your discription you are giving me is sounds like you have an 'Error' Seven. It's kinda hard to discribe this, but the Numbers should appear as 'Narrow & Blocky' in fact you should have an error '07' the Error '01' should look something like '0|'. So given that it would appear that you have an Error '07'...

A HDD Error: 'There is currently no connection (Power or IDE) to the XBOX™'

So the first thing you need to ask yourself is. Did you recently open your XBOX™? Did you remember to reset the IDE Cable? on the Mainboard, aswell as the HDD itself? How about the Power Cable?

All to easy Sh*t to forget!!!

It does not help that the IDE Cable is also a tricky B*tch. Indeed it wont take much messing 'round with it to cause the IDE Cabe to Slip out of the Mainboard Socket. Muchless from the HDD.

In short you have a HDD Connection Problem where the XBOX™ is eventualy timeing out and giving you an 'Error Seven'

O.K.I think it is a error seven to from what the one looks like. Now Scence we got that problim solved,we can move on to the next step.:)
You said that"There is currently no connection (Power or IDE) to the XBOX".I don't know about techknowledgely as much as as you guys do,so with that being said I don't understand it when you say There is currently no connection (Power or IDE) to the XBOX".Now to answer you first question I did rescently open my X-Box to do a mod to my eject buton LED light(You Know The One To Make It Half Red & Green). For the next question I do not know either reset the IDE Cable on the Mainboard,or the HDD.Question number three,I am allmost possitive I know what power cord is.That is the thing when you open and you are viewing the X-Box from the front,it is the thing on the far right up under that thing next to the DVD Tray thing(Isn't This The HDD).I have the two cords pluged into that(The Ones That Connects The What I Think Is The The HDD And To the Mother Bord Thing & The Cord That Is Up Under It;It Has The Red(1),The Yellow(1), and the black(2)pluged in).And finally,I don't really Know What The IDE cabel is,but from what it sounds like to me,I belive I have that fully connected. With that being all said, just to cut down the back & Forth/Time & Confussion,I think IM'ing will cut down the stuff I just said.So My Yahoo IM is timhackett7,My AIM is TimB0w(Not Letter O But The Number 0),and If My MSN Is TimHackett7@hotmail.com.So wich ever one is best for you just let me know in the next Message. So I will See You Later Until Then.C Ya
    :)

Ok The IDE Cable is the 40-Wire/Socket (Female Connecting) Cord that allows Data to pass into or out of your HDD (Hard Disk Drive),. The Power Cable (Molex), supplies the +12v +5v need to actualy power the HDD. You have to think of the XBOX™, for what it actualy is. A modifide PC! Since your obviously writeing this on a PC you should have seen some of this stuff?

Not sure if I got you right it sounded like you 'opend' you XBOX™ to do some work? If so is it just posible that you forgot to make sure you connected everything back up again?

In short I don't see a way out for you if you did open your Box up. Your going to have to do so now again. To check these Three locations 2x on the IDE (1x Mainboard: under the DVD-ROM Drive! 1x on the HDD Itself) and that your Molex (The connector with the Red, Yellow, Black & Black), are all connected properly.

Unfortunalty an Error 7 could also mean!! that you killed your HDD as well... Oh say by trying to 'Hotswap' it out of the XBOX™ to the PC?? In order to try installing a 'Softmod' on it? Ok even I had my moments at being a 'TightArse'! In short even if you can manage to get a 'Softmod' to work. the BIGEEST CHALLENGE IS TO KEEP IT WORKING!! And the majority of the People out there, such as yourself (and I), do not have the Programing expertiese to skilfully accomplish it! 'Softmods' are insanly easy to break. Only after I got one of the first gen. Solderless Chips to enter the Market (e.g. X-b.i.t),. Did I actually start to enjoy a system that was relitively stable.

I'm not knocking 'Sotmods' persay. That's just been my expereance with 'em + beeing such a 'Tightarse' to buy a Mem. Cart. So maybye just mabye there's that asspect to look at to.

But, unfortuantly if this is the case the you will have no choise but to go Chip'ed. Because you will have to eventually repalce the Drive. (barring the fact that it's still working that is),. But, this shouldn't really be fround upon. In fact look at it as a blessing! your Stock 10Gb if you have a Western Digital (unlikely given it was in the 1.0 / 1.1 Models) then you'd have a 20Gb HDD in there! In anycase whats a good 200Gb HDD these days? $99.00(USD) after Rebates! That's a lot of Movies & Games! that you could be storing on your XBOX™ right now!!

BUT FIRST THINGS FIRST OPEN YOUR BOX UP AND CHECK THE CONNECTONS ALL OF 'EM!!
