firmware

    i just got a ilo,[dvdr05], dvd recorder/player. i want to put the firmware on it. i've been to ilo's website where they have the download for it. i've downloaded it and put it in the recorder put it comes up saying that it failed. what am i doing wrong? thanks for any help.

    There are 2 firmware updates for the R05, frontend and backend. Both downloads are CD images. If you are trying to burn the ISO files to a CD as a file, this is wrong. You need to use your programs "Write/Burn Image" option to make the proper CD. Each file is an image for a seperate CD. Once done right, you should have one CD for the front end and one CD for the back end. You will need to install both. If you have done all of this and it is failing, try using the opposite disc first.

    i've downloaded the firmware, it ask if you want to open it or save it. i save it and when i want to put it on a cd it doesn't want to do anything. thanks for trying to help

    What software are you using to make the CD's??

    i guess what i should have said was after it finishes downloading i'll go to open it and it ask what i want to open it with. and i have no idea. i'm new at all of this. thanks

    ok, i got everything downloaded and burned. put it in the dvd recorder and it said it was a success but when i tried to copy a vhs movie to dvd it wouldn't let. now what am i doing wrong? thanks
