converting (s)vcd to vcd-is it possible?

i have quite a few (s)vcd`s (mpeg 2 region 1) now and they play fine on my p.c. thru power dvd,but they wont play on my pioneer dvd 737 home player;
i dont want to buy another dvd player as the performance i get from it is excellent!
is there n e way that i can convert an (s)vcd to a normal vcd?- i am familiar with tmpgenc,flask mpeg etc..help would be greatfully received-thank u...
