How can i copy these cd's into one dvd so i could play it on my divx player and that subs would work fine ? i have tried to copy these on dvd and renamed those subs as cd1.avi cd1.srt and cd2.avi and cd2.srt. cd1 subs work fine but not on cd2 why is that ???? do the files look too similar that the machine does not understand or what am i doing wrong here ?

Hmm, the only way I can think to do it, you'll end up with subs "burned in". If that's okay, then use TMPGEnc Plus to convert each .avi file to
DVD format. You need to see the TMPGEnc guide for setting the Environment options for .avi and adding subtitles. But once you set the options you're good from then on. Basically if there's an .srt file with the same name as the movie file (mymovie.avi and mymovie.srt) TMPGEnc will pick up the subs and encode them into the mpg output when it encodes your .avi file. An easy free DVD authoring program is DVDAuthorGUI. See the guide for it also. You can find guides for both programs on www.videohelp.com.

If everything is going right then you should see the subtitles in the preview as TMPGEnc Plus is converting. If you want removable subs then somebody else will have to help.

Use subtitle workshop to join the srt's, then join the avi's with AVIMuxGUI or VirtualDubMod. Since CD1's subs work fine, the joined file should work to.
