    [bold]Setting the proper Refresh Rate:[/bold]
    1. In some cases, the TV looks fine during boot-up but once the PC enters Windows all I see is black and white horizontal wavy lines: The display adapter (video card) is set to a refresh rate not supported by the PC to TV converter. The following procedure is required on most typical systems (Note: your PC may require a different procedure. Please refer to your PCs documentation for how to adjust the refresh rate for further information):

Start Menu -> Settings -> Control Panel
    Click on the icon "DISPLAY".
    Click on SETTINGS tab.
    Click on the button "ADVANCED".
    Click on ADAPTER tab.
Change the Refresh Rate from Optimal to ADAPTER DEFAULT or 60Hz and click apply.

    -------------------------------------

If under the ADAPTER tab you do not see refresh rate, do the following:

Start Menu -> Settings -> Control Panel
    Click on the icon "DISPLAY".
    Click on SETTINGS tab.
    Click on the button "ADVANCED".
    Click on the MONITOR tab.

Write down the monitor type that is currently in use (so that you can change the setting back if you need to). Click "Change". In the "Select Device" menu, click on "Show All Devices". The device windows appears showing a list of manufacturers and a list of models. Select "(Standard monitor types)" as the manufacturer and select "Super VGA 1024x768" for desktops and "Laptop Display Panel 1024x768" for laptops. Click "OK" and reboot the computer if prompted.

Note: A standard American NTSC TV can support a maximum of 640x480 pixels, while a high definition TV will support greater resolutions. Unlike most of these converters, the picture will not scroll along with the mouse over the full resolution up to 1600x1200, instead the entire monitor display will be shown as it is on the monitor. Unfortunately NTSC TV's will still only display 640x480 pixels, so the image quality will not be the same as a monitor.

**Mac's will need to have "PC style" VGA (SVGA) outputs to connect directly, otherwise an adapter may be necessary.

    [bold]Changing your Resolution:[/bold]
Note: Some display adapters have proprietary software that may require additional steps.
"Start" -> "Settings" -> "Control Panel" -> "Display" -> "Settings"
The "Desktop Area" contains a horizontal scroll bar that is used to adjust the resolution. Point and click on the scroll bar to change the setting.
    Click "Apply"
A message appears stating that "Windows will now adjust your display settings."
    Click "OK"
The display flickers for a moment and reappears in the new resolution.
NOTE: Some computers may require you to restart the computer for the new resolution setting to change.
A message appears asking you "Do you what to keep this setting?"
    Click "YES"

    The Most Common Problem:
Checking (and Changing) the Refresh Rate in your PC:
If you believe everything is connected properly, then chances are the resolution and/or refresh rate are set beyond what is supported by the PC to TV converter. Please refer to your PC to TV converter's user's manual for a table listing supported resolution and refresh rates.

    Good Luck!!

Thanks for writing a guide for a previous post problem,uniique1.

However, there is a 'user submitted guides' section here at AD.

Well aware of it but it's no big deal. I'll submit it later.
